Jason and Thomas discuss a few recent events we attended...
JConcepts was on the road again, hitting several events over the last month. First up is our annual trip up to Diggers Dungeon, home of the legendary Grave Digger in North Carolina, for the No Limit World Finals. Always a great time and we had several drivers dominating the competition all weekend long. We also presented Dennis Anderson with a limited edition Spectra Chrome King Sling body on a cool custom stand.
After a quick regroup back at JConcepts headquarters in Florida, we headed back out for the Bigfoot Open House, one of our favorite events every year. The Trigger King guys put on a great event and it's alway great seeing the Bigfoot trucks from over the years all in one place.
Next we headed to Illinois for the Horizon Hobby RC Fest but a quick detour on the way had us visiting another great Monster Truck Team, the Hall Brothers and Raminator. We were fortunate enough to get a quick tour and see some testing and tuning of Raminator.
Our final step on this trip would be Horizon's RC Fest, a great event showing off everything Radio Controlled Hobbies has to offer. There were several events all weekend long including an 8th scale race, Monster truck event, crawler track and so much more. JConcepts was set up showing off several new products and our team drivers had a great showing at the 8th scale races and the Monster Truck races.
In this episode of the JConcepts Vlog, Jason and Fred discuss a few recent events we have attended...
First up is the Solid Showdown, Jason and Fred made the trip up to Virginia to compete in this annual event put on by the guys at Showtime RC Monster Motorsports. Started by brothers Rafael and Marlon Cox who have been monster truck and RC enthusiast for over 20 years, this years event was the biggest so far.
Next up Fred headed up to North Florida for the debut of the brand new King Sling with Dennis Anderson behind the wheel once again.
The Monster Jam World Finals XX was in Orlando this year and Fred and Jason were out there racing and doing some freestyle for the fans.
Finally, we held our first JConcepts sponsored Dirt Oval event. Hosted by the Hobbyplex in Omaha, Jason was there competing and showing off a few new items from JConcepts. With a few of our team drivers being big into oval, we’ve been wanting to create an oval event to help promote the fun, exciting atmosphere, and awesome buzz that oval has around it.
JConcepts attends Monster Jam World Finals in Orlando, Florida.
It was definitely a weekend to remember participating in the RC Monster Jam World Finals in Orlando, Florida. The now annual event was organized and put on by RC enthusiasts as a showcase to 1000’s of fans and spectators during the pit party at the Monster Jam World Finals. The RC arena was built with attendance in mind with ample space to operate the vehicles while also offering great audience viewing areas and space for some social engagement and 1 on 1 time with guests...
The 3rd annual USTE event was another great success. JConcepts was on hand and set up for the 2019 Ultimate Scale Truck Expo. The brain child of Corey Verne and Rob Mathews, this annual event brings in the top scale builders and manufactures from around the world. Months go into building the various scale trails and it shows. With special trails carved into the sides of hills, details like tire treads through the grass and scale bridges makes hanging out in the woods an amazing time. This year there were additional events taking place along side builder classes and the awesome trails. A vintage buggy track was built in the center of vendor row and had some exciting action with the old school buggies and trucks. Monster Trucks then took over the course and tore things up. Mega trucks also had a special course set up and there was a great turnout of mud trucks willing to get dirty. JConcepts along with Mike Lohmann from Mike's RC World outfitted two Axial SMT10's with bodies and tires along with upgraded drivetrain. Attendees could then sign up to race the two trucks, the top two finishers would take home the trucks. To cap off the event on Sunday, the basher park was open for the bigger and faster trucks to attempt the longest jump and the highest jump, they did not disappoint. 2019 was another success for the USTE and we look forward to being back in 2020 for another weekend at Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens located in Williston, Florida. Don't miss it!
