With the success of the first “Rock Rash” JConcepts and S.S.R.C.C. decided to team up for the 2nd leg of the 2009 points championship. JConcepts stepped up BIG time giving us a full day of activities; multi-course rock crawling, lunch, and a monster truck show.

Sunday morning started out on the shores of Lake Minneola where 2 courses (8 gates per) were strategically placed by none other than the dynamic duo of speedracer19 and Kinson. The 1.9 comp rigs rolled off the gates first and this was my first time seeing the Losi minis at work; somebody needs to make softer tires for these things…lol Next up were the 1.9/2.2 scalers and they where looking sweet on the rocks! The scale look and body scraping made for some realistic runs throughout the courses (check out the pics). Finally the big boys were up with the 2.2 comp rigs. There is always a huge variety of rigs in this class providing some great competition and they didn’t disappoint! Congrats to speedracer19 for the domination!

Lunch rolled in just about the time course #2 was finishing up and it came at just the right time (everyone was starving). Once again Robin’s pizza from Pasta Vino was AWESOME!!!

After lunch everyone packed it up and made a mad dash to the JConcepts headquarters for the second half of the event. The JConcepts/RC Monster Motorsports crew had everything setup and it was looking first class; JConcepts tent with product, Maximum Overkill monster truck, heads-up r/c monster truck course, and finally a 3rd bonus crawler course. After everyone made their rounds checking out Maximum Overkill it was time to conquer the bonus course. The bonus course proved to be very difficult for most, but turned out to be very fun.

The highlight for me was when Fred Reep interviewed Kirk Dabney from Maximum Overkill and then fired up the 1500 plus HP truck!!! The smell of nitro and heart stopping rumble made gave me “goose bumps”. Blowing dirt and exhaust all over scattman during the burnout was also entertaining…Ha

Special thanks to everyone involved and already looking forward to the next Rock Rash.
